Therapeutic drug monitoring and pharmacogenomic testing may sound like topics for the Pharmacy. However, these topics are firmly within the scope and practice of the clinical laboratory. Although these topics are considered sub-disciplines within laboratory medicine, the two fields overlap significantly. In this course, we will provide an overview of each of these laboratory sub-disciplines and discuss their utility, rationale, and practice.
