In previous exercises, we examined the formed elements of the urine sediment, including casts, cells, crystals, and miscellaneous structures. Sometimes, elements in the urine sediment may be confused with similar elements. The following pages discuss some of these elements and how they can be distinguished from similar elements to provide accurate identification.
