Personnel To be Assessed

Testing personnel who perform any aspect of patient testing, including pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic, must be assessed for competency in all aspects of job performance. Personnel evaluations do not qualify as competency assessments.
Personnel fulfilling federal regulatory responsibilities, including clinical consultants, technical consultants, technical supervisors, and general supervisors must have competency assessed on their federal regulatory responsibilities. This personnel must also be assessed on patient testing involvement, if appropriate. The Laboratory Director is not required to have a competency assessment.
