Do NOT store food OR medications OR specimens in the same refrigerator.

  • Check patient refrigerators used for food daily for:
    • Cleanliness
    • Expired food
    • Proper temperature
  • Check patient refrigerators used for medication daily for:
    • Cleanliness
    • Expired medication
    • Proper temperature
  • Document refrigerator temperatures on a temperature log
  • Associate/employee food is not allowed in clinical areas
  • Covered drinks are only allowed in pre-designated clean areas
