Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Germanischer Lloyd (GL) is a hospital accrediting agency that received CMS-deemed status in 2008. DNV GL - International Healthcare Accreditation is based upon the National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (NIAHO)®, which is an integrated, quality-based accreditation program that utilizes two or more independent sets of standards when surveying hospitals in the United States. DNV GL refers to the ISO 9001, Standard 8.5.2 Corrective Actions. This standard requires that laboratories:
- Review complaints and nonconformities
- Determine causes
- Evaluate actions needed to prevent a recurrence
- Implement corrective actions
- Monitor for effectiveness
- Maintain records
