Other Cells in Semen: Round Cells and Red Blood Cells (RBCs)

A round cell is indicated by the blue arrow in this microscopic field, and RBCs are indicated by the red arrows. RBCs have a rounded, smooth appearance compared to the grainy appearance of the round cells.

Round cells may be either spermatids (immature sperm) or white blood cells.
