Operating Leverage

In addition to knowing the BEP, the clinical laboratory often needs to determine operating leverage (OL) for a test, analytical instrument, cost center, or the entire laboratory. Operating leverage is a ratio or index that tells the laboratory manager the percent change in total profit that will result from a given change in revenue.
