Using the Dictation Box

With Dragon Medical One, the dictation box will automatically open when you start dictating if you do not put your cursor in a text area in LIS. You can use the dictation box to dictate into and then transfer the text to the LIS. Access the dictation box from the blue flame application menu button, press central foot pedal, or say, "show dictation box" (see image, right).
Below is the step-by-step process of dictating:
  1. Dictate in the box.
  2. Put your cursor where you want the text to start.
  3. To move the text, click the Transfer Text icon or say “Transfer Text”
    • The text will transfer to the LIS application and be deleted from the Dragon Medical One dictation box.
  4. You can click the Recall icon to undo the transfer.
  5. Say “Go to Sleep” or “Stop Listening.”
    • The system will ignore everything except the “Wake Up” or “Listen To Me” commands.
  6. Reactivate the microphone by saying “Wake Up” or “Listen To Me.”
    • You can also press the numeric plus (+) key to turn on/off the microphone.
