Upon analysis using brilliant cresyl blue stain, RNA present in reticulocytes will appear as darker inclusions, similar to how they appear with New Methylene Blue stain.
These RNA inclusions are fewer in number than Hemoglobin H bodies, and are only seen in reticulocytes.
