Blood Pressure, Temperature, and Pulse Requirements

The donor center should perform a physical assessment of the donor's health. The FDA has made recommendations for acceptable blood pressure ranges:
  • Systolic: 90 to 180 mm Hg
  • Diastolic: 50 to 100 mm Hg
Potential donors should have a body temperature of 99.5°F or less (37.5°C or less) in order to be eligible to donate.
The pulse requirement set by the FDA is between 50 and 100 beats per minute.
