The following is a list of types of medications or diseases/situations in which certain medications that are used to treat them may be cause for a potential donor to be deferred, depending on the type of product being donated.
  • Anti-platelet agents
  • Anticoagulants ("blood thinners")
  • Acne treatment
  • Multiple Myeloma
  • Hair loss regimens
  • Prostate symptoms
  • Immunosuppressants
  • Basal Cell Skin Cancer
  • Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Hepatitis exposure
  • HIV prevention or treatment medications
  • Psoriasis
  • Experimental medications
