Group 1-A—Orellanine (Delayed Kidney Damage)

The onset of symptoms from this toxin may occur within 36 hours to 3 weeks after ingestion. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, lethargy, polyuria, headache, a burning thirst, shivering (usually in the absence of fever), and kidney failure. Cortinarius sp. is a representative genus in which Orellanine is the principal toxin.
