Bone is comprised of three major components:

Cells There are three types of bone cells:
  • Osteoblasts
  • Osteocytes
  • Osteoclasts
Collagen fibers and ground substanceBone collagen differs from other body collagen as it is mineralized to form bands.
MineralThe primary mineral of bone is calcium.
