Automated Systems and Exposure Risk

If the manufacturer provides your laboratory with an alternate tube extraction method, the LRN Sentinal Clinical Laboratory Protocols recommend the additional step of filtering the resulting extract using a 0.2 µ (or less) filter. This additional step is intended to reduce the risk of laboratory contamination with viable bacteria and spores.
