Congenital Babesiosis Case

  • 6-week-old girl from Yorktown Heights, New York
  • Admitted to the hospital with a 2-day history of fever, irritability, pallor, and decreased oral intake
  • Mother was asymptomatic during and after her pregnancy
  • Mother visited parks during her pregnancy but did not noticed ticks
