Polychromatophilic Red Blood Cells (RBCs)

There are two polychromatophilic RBCs in this field. Notice that they have a blue-gray appearance when compared to the other RBCs in the field. Polychromatophilic RBCs are often larger in size than mature RBCs and either lack central pallor or have diminished central pallor.
