One can conclude from this and previous slides, that observational studies that associate serum 25(OH)D and the risk of disease are of limited use in assessing the risk of individual patients. Definitive studies showing prevention of morbidity and mortality with vitamin D supplementation is lacking except in prevention of bone pathology.
