Accrediting Organizations: Commission on Laboratory Accreditation

The Commission on Laboratory Accreditation (COLA) was founded in 1988 and, in 1993, was granted deeming authority by CMS.
COLA is currently approved by CMS to accredit the following specialties:
  • Chemistry
  • Hematology
  • Microbiology
  • Immunology
  • Immunohematology/transfusion services
