Monitor and Improve Risk Management Treatment(s)

The final risk management step is to monitor, evaluate, and improve the effectiveness of the treatments employed. As with the other steps in the risk management process, this step should also be a team effort. This step should never become static; implementations should be monitored accurately, appropriately, and improved as the on-going evaluation indicates.

A chart that may be helpful during this phase of risk control is the trend chart. This chart is a performance plotter and addresses the question of "How are we doing?" It helps monitor the effectiveness of performance change over time.
