Communication, continued

First, bring awareness of impending procedural changes (if indicated) to the staff involved. Emphasize the revisions being made are not intended to target bad behaviors but rather to improve processes for better quality. Remember, you want to cultivate open communication. This can be accomplished through the manner in which the process is communicated.
Training on the new process, procedure, and/or policy must take place to ensure the NCE does not occur again. While training takes place, be sure the modifications are clear to the trainee(s).
Also, once verification of implemented actions are determined to be effective, the outcomes of the improvement measures should be shared with the relevant personnel.
