Introduction

In previous exercises we have examined the formed elements of the urine sediment including casts, cells, crystals, and miscellaneous structures. Sometimes elements in the urine sediment may be confused with other elements that have some similarities. The following pages discusses some of these elements and how they can be distinguished from a similar element to provide an accurate identification.
