CBC and RBC Morphology

CBC results for patients with sickle cell disease who have a hereditary persistence of fetal hemoglobin (Hb S/HPFH) may appear normal or demonstrate a mild to moderate anemia. The CBC and peripheral blood smear for a patient with Hb S/HPFH appear below.
