Immunohistochemical (IHC) Techniques

There are three commonly used methods in IHC. They are:
  • Direct
  • Indirect
  • Avidin-biotin complex (ABC)
Still in use also is the peroxidase-antiperoxidase (PAP) method and, over the past few years, manufacturers have been developing and refining other methods such as polymeric detection systems and numerous amplification methods. This course will focus on the three most common methods, which are direct, indirect, and ABC methods.
