The Biological Stain Commission (BSC) is the agency primarily responsible for ensuring the quality of biological stains through independent analysis of dyes submitted by vendors and/or manufacturers to determine content and composition. In addition, they also:
- Promote cooperation and dialogue among manufacturers, vendors, and users of dyes for histochemical applications.
- Educate users of biological stains about sources of reliable dyes and how they might best be used.
- Publish information concerning new or improved uses for biological staining with dyes and related histochemical techniques.
