Chlamydia Screening

  • Recommendations by Center for Disease and Prevention
    • Annual screening for all sexually active females aged 25 years or younger
    • Females aged ≥25 years if they are at increased risk for infection
    • Rescreen after 3 months
  • Most effective but < 60% of women get screened
  • Targeted male screening in high prevalence settings only
  • Effort aimed more at women to prevent infertility and ectopic pregnancy
