Direct Nucleic Acid Testing Principle

Direct nucleic acid testing methodologies use principles that detect RNA or DNA that is currently contained in the sample; therefore no multiplication or amplification occurs.
There are usually 3 main steps:
    1. Sample preparation
    2. Probe hybridization
    3. Detection
