Immunohistochemical (IHC) Techniques

There are three commonly used staining methods in IHC. They are:
  • Direct Method
  • Indirect Method
  • Avidin-biotin complex (ABC) Method
The peroxidase-antiperoxidase (PAP) method is still in use in many labs. Over the past few years, manufacturers have been developing and refining other methods such as polymeric detection systems and numerous amplification methods. This course will focus on the three most common methods, which are direct, indirect, and ABC methods.
