Normal megakaryocyte

Dysplastic Megakaryocytic Cell Line (Dysmegakaryopoiesis)

Normal megakaryocytes measure approximately 20-90 µm in diameter and have a multilobated nucleus (please refer to the image on the right).
Dysplastic megakaryocytes are:
  • Micro-megakaryocytes: smaller than 20 µm
  • Hypolobated megakaryocytes: megakaryocyte with two attached lobes
  • Monolobated megakaryocytes: megakaryocyte with single lobe
  • Megakaryocytes with separated nuclei: megakaryocyte with lobes completely separated
