Why Statistics?

Many people involved in the clinical laboratory sciences need to be familiar with basic statistics for a variety of reasons. These reasons include:

  • Evaluating quantitative quality control results
  • Evaluating new test methods
  • Understanding how acceptable laboratory procedures and methods are established
